✨ HighlightWorst experience ever. The behaviour of the stuffs are really rude. They behaved like they are just tolerating the guests somehow. They really lack politeness. Now come to food, it was just average. We took the "famous" chelo kebab, it was just stale with loads of butter on it. Kebabs are not tasty. Other items were average too. Atmosphere is congested and really dark. We didn't like it at all. There are far better restaurants in Park street than this one. Never going back again.→

Very old school. A must visit place. I ordered tomato soup which was thick and tangy. I also ordered hot coffee and egg fried rice. Everything I ordered was simple yet very tasty.→

✨ HighlightWe visited this restaurant recently, and the food taste was really good. However, the service was not up to the mark and the biggest problem was that there was a big difference in the timing of food that was being served, which really made a portion of the food called and a portion of the food hot, probably because they were very occupied. The same feedback was passed on to the chef who had come to take feedback, but he really did not do much about it and just left with an apology. The food and ambience of the restaurant is really good. However, for the price, it is not up to the mark.→

✨ HighlightWe have recently visited Oudh 1590 Deshapriya Park Outlet and ordered Murgh Afghani Kabab, Ghost Awadi Handi Biryani and Murgh Kundan Kalia which was delivered within 5 minutes after ordering. The main course also did come with the starter, and when we taste the biryani it was not hot and tasted very dry. All the main course item was cold. Lastly they added the price of mineral water which we didn't consumed, after telling that to the manager he left with my credit card and gets it corrected manually. Even after his fault, his behaviour was rude and looks like it should be good if we pay for the water which we didn't consume. Food was descent, not as expected as it is hyped. My opinion is to train the staff and manager well to deal with customer and make their experience better.→

✨ HighlightReview: I recently visited this place with my family, including two members who had fond childhood memories from around 50 years ago. Naturally, we were excited, and upon entering, the place did not disappoint with its stunning ambiance. The Christmas decorations added a festive charm, and their pastry collection was quite impressive. However, our dining experience fell short of expectations. The food was average overall, though the pork ribs stood out with tender meat and succulent flavors. The soup and salad were just passable. The cake had a great taste but was disappointingly dry in texture. The caramel custard, despite good plating, felt like an amateur attempt. The choco lava cake was overly sweet for my liking, and the mushroom soup lacked mushrooms and depth of flavor. On a positive note, the cream coffee was delicious and enjoyable. Service-wise, there’s room for improvement. The waiters didn’t clear previous plates before serving the next dish. I had to fetch judge of water and fill our glasses. These small things so affect the dining experience. Overall, we cherished the visit for its history and heritage, and the well-maintained interiors added to the experience. While I can’t say this place serves the best food and pastries, it definitely ranks in the top 30%. With some attention to customer feedback and a few impactful changes, they could easily climb higher.→

✨ HighlightBanana leaf is a south Indian Restaurant, located at Komala Vilas, Lake market. It serves south indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, and uttapams. They also have a good selection of vegetarian dishes. The restaurant has a cozy and casual atmosphere. It is a good place to relax and enjoy a meal with family and friends. The prices at Banana Leaf are reasonable. You can get a good meal for a reasonable price. Overall, Banana Leaf is a great place to go for a delicious and affordable South Indian meal in Kolkata. But this time, I was highly disappointed. After waiting for a long time, they served everything very cold. We had ordered south indian thali. Very poor service. In spite of serving very tasty food if they don't maintain , then people will stop going there, for their poor service.→

✨ HighlightSituated in a shabby area with limited parking. The food here is absolutely authentic Chinese. We ordered the chicken wonton soup as appetizer. For the main course, we had the mixed fried rice, garlic prawn and sweet and sour prawn. The quantity was generous, and the dishes were delicious. The prices were very pocket-friendly, and the restaurant doesn't charge extra tax. Note: Be sure to carry cash, as this restaurant still doesn't accept any digital payments.→

✨ HighlightThakali refers to the cuisine of an ethnic group from Nepal. However, in Bengal, the term "Thakali" is often associated with the act of fooling or cheating people, which is exactly what I felt happened here. Like many so-called "authentic" places, this one is also run by Biharis, so don’t expect Tibetan people, food, or service. Green Apple Boma Can @ Rs.189 (1/5) Passion Fruit Boma Can @ Rs.189 (1/5) ---------------------------------------------- I tried the BOMA drinks, and they sell these canned drinks for Rs. 189+ GST. It feels like daylight robbery for a can of colored water packed with excessive sugar and little flavor. Not only does it taste bad, but it’s also extremely unhealthy. Chilli Pork Dry @ Rs.360 (2/5) Chilli Butter Wings @ Rs.370 (4/5) Pork Steamed Momo @ Rs.190 (2/5) Mutton Steamed Momo @ Rs.440 (5/5) ------------------------------------------------ Chilli Pork dry was below average but Butter Wings were impressive. The Mutton Momo was surprisingly good, even better than their Pork Momos. However, charging Rs. 470 + service charge for a plate of 10 momos is excessive. Each momo had less than 5g of meat, and the price doesn’t justify the portion size or quality. Chicken Fried Rice @ Rs.330 (2/5) Hot Garlic Chicken @ Rs.280 (1/5) ------------------------------------------------ The Chicken Fried Rice was basic, with a very small portion for the price. The Hot Garlic Chicken tasted like Sweet and Sour Chicken and was the worst I’ve had at any restaurant. It was essentially chicken pakoras tossed in ketchup, and it was hilariously bad. Honestly, even a street food vendor could make this dish 1000 times better. If you're planning a gathering here, I’d recommend spending a few thousand more and booking a trip to Darjeeling or Gangtok. You’ll get much better food directly from authentic sources. I had visited this place a while ago, and it was great value for money, which is why I decided to return. However, recently, prices have shot up by 5-6 times. They completely ruined our Puja lunch, and no one was happy with the food or the prices. We could have easily opted for a much better buffet at this price. I now regret suggesting this place on a Puja day.→

✨ HighlightExcellent, excellent, excellent. No other word can describe the experience. My visit to Putiram today was after 5 decades. Last time I had anything from here was in 1973 when I was a student of Hindu School. Our daily tiffin used to come from there. It used to cost us Rs 3.50 per month. There would be a singara or vegetable chop or nimki or kochuri and a sweet packed in a thick brown paper bag (thonga). Today I had radha ballabhi with chholar daal. It was so good that my wife and I ate 3 plates there and got 3 more plates packed. It's that good. Light, yet tasty. You pay only Rs 30 for 4 freshly fried crispy radha ballabhi and the daal. Both taste and price are so teasing. We also had winter special joynagarer moya which was fresh and less sweet than what is normally available in the market. It's a heritage sweet meat shop of Calcutta. And you will see a steady stream of customers here. Seating capacity is less so many customers would enjoy the delicacies standing.→

✨ HighlightSienna recently reopened its doors after a four month remodel, and I’m pleased to say the space still captures the rustic-chic vibe it was once known for, now with a refreshed aesthetic. The decor evokes the same charm I’ve seen in cafes in Singapore, blending simplicity and elegance seamlessly. The layout now includes a café on the ground floor and a restaurant upstairs, though both areas have limited seating, so expect wait times, especially on weekends. The menu is intentionally curated and compact, a choice I appreciate for its focus on quality and flavor. It’s a great balance, though rotating it with the seasons could help keep customers coming back for new experiences. The handicrafts for sale are high-quality and reasonably priced, while the clothing selection, though a bit on the expensive side, is undeniably well-made. ✨ HighlightWent to katsuri to taste Bengali cuisine and it was very tasty. We had the jumbo prawn malaicurry and the shrimp in taro leaves, both were delicious but the shrimp was slightly on the small side for a jumbo. Unfortunately they didn't have the shrimp cutlets that we were really looking forward to tasting, as well as the medium shrimp curry. Also, we asked which cold drinks they had and they offered an option that we accepted (lime soda) and they ended up charging us the price of a fresh juice and not the price on the menu for the "cold drinks" when we asked what they had. They should've said they didn't have any cold drinks and that they had x, y & z fresh juice and that they're more expensive.→

✨ HighlightI have never been to Koshe kosha. So when I went on a shopping trip to Shyambajar I decided to visit Koshe kosha for lunch. It was a long walk . Found an empty table and ordered bhetki chingri jugalbandi, rice, kochu pata bhapa chingri and chitol muithya. The menu is very specific...like mentioning how many pieces are there. Loved the food..all were on point. The staff were really nice. Packed some mutton dishes and chanar dalna for home also.→

✨ HighlightIf you are a person who likes dramatically luxurious place which serves ultra processed food in the name of cuisine……then definitely Suruchi is not a place for you! Avoid it! Suruchi is medium sized cozy place with heritage vibes which offers meals same like your neighbour Bengali aunt will offer you when you visit her. Authentic food served nicely without any drama. It’s down-to-earth place where the lady comes to you and ask for your order very politely based on your food preferences. Suruchi is a restaurant maintained and run by women self-help group! Do visit here and enjoy the typical Bengali heritage ambience. Totally worthy experience. Note: Keep an open mind when you visit them as they are not professional-hotel management school passed out people.→
