I recently visited this restaurant and, overall, the food was quite good. The flavors were enjoyable, and most of the dishes tasted fresh and well-prepared. However, I was disappointed by a few things. The cleanliness of the restaurant was not up to standard, and the staff’s behavior was less than welcoming. Additionally, one of the kebabs we ordered seemed to be old and had a noticeable smell
Nizams used to be a very popular earting joint earlier. It has lost its old world charm and the food has become oily. A meal for two would now cost around Rs 1000 and there are better choices available. Strangely, they have also removed all bottled drinks, like Coke, from the menu .
This restaurant located in front of busiest area in front of New Market area near Esplanade metro in Kolkata. Has both AC and non AC arrangements and you have to pay 20% extra if you opt AC sitting. We found this restaurant but overpricing. Most of the persons who does shopping from dharmatala and new market area choose this . We ordered chicken biriyani tasted very good but quantity is not justified with its price and their signature chicken kathi roll ( Rs 108/- ) also disappoints this time, it tasted lighter so one case easily eat two and burhani lassi which tasted blunt . It is an authentic restaurant but quantity can be taken care as price of each item is costly.
They are considered to be the inventors of Kathi rolls but looks now they forget how to do. My worst roll experience specially when you visit with such high expectations. Situation in the busy New Market area this place remains crowded throughout the day. I visited after lunch hour still majority of tables were occupied. Cleanliness and hygiene was not upto the mark,need to work on it. But most disappointing was the food,I ordered chicken Kathi rolls considering inventors of rolls should be making one of best rolls in town but I was wrong. Neither stuffing of kabab was justifying the price nor the taste,worst was that it was cold from inside,Kababs stuffing were not quick fried on tawa before filling and serving. What i felt that the Roll was already prepared and was just heated on tawa before serving thats why only roti was warm not kabab. Overall a bad experience and won’t be visiting again.
