Banana leaf is a south Indian Restaurant, located at Komala Vilas, Lake market. It serves south indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, and uttapams. They also have a good selection of vegetarian dishes. The restaurant has a cozy and casual atmosphere. It is a good place to relax and enjoy a meal with family and friends. The prices at Banana Leaf are reasonable. You can get a good meal for a reasonable price. Overall, Banana Leaf is a great place to go for a delicious and affordable South Indian meal in Kolkata. But this time, I was highly disappointed. After waiting for a long time, they served everything very cold. We had ordered south indian thali. Very poor service. In spite of serving very tasty food if they don't maintain , then people will stop going there, for their poor service.
Aa I have a carving for Dosa, so we went there to have some dosas. We took cheese onion masala dosa and butter masala rawa dosa and their famous filter coffee.. The dosas were toooo tooooo delicious.. It was soo tasty... This will become my one stop dosa destination.. Will visit again again.. Love this place and fallen love with their dosa..
Situated at rashbehari avenue very near Desopriyo Park and Lake Mall provide authentic and extremely tasty South Indian dishes . Price one may find on the higher side but quality they provide absolutely top notch and maintain great hygiene. Service is prompt and asks repeatedly for coconut chutneys and all. They have huge seating arrangements . We have tried their masala dosa prices approximately Rs 145/- tastes great. As it was raining heavily outside we tried their signature milk tea ( Rs 50/-) definitely overprice compared to quantity. I personally also ordered vestal mojito as they provide good beverages also. For South Indian dish lovers , its a must visit restaurant in South Kolkata near Kalighat metro
Ordered lunch through swiggy - upma, variety rice , curs and curd rice ordered. Well packed. Yummy food. Very authentic South Indian Ordered dinner again through swiggy- Dosa and uttapam platter was really good. Idli was not steamed well. Take care of this next time. Chutney and sambhar very tasty but it would have been good if packed in container rather than as packets. It will be then easy to handle for tourists who stay at hotels
