Some dishes came with fresh white truffle which smelled divine. Staff was friendly and professional. The room and ambiance was first class- a very classic French experience. The wine was outstanding. The sommelier did a great job. All do this comes at a hefty cost- not unusual at this level but something to be aware of. We declined the offer of extra truffle-which would have added €110 pp to the bill. Two glasses of champagne were the same price as our (excellent) bottle of Chablis (the wine pairing option was a bit steep at €180). As is often the case, lunch is more reasonable. We knew the chef from his pre-Michelin days, when he ran a small restaurant in our neighbourhood. He’s come a long way!→

It was perfect. I had monkfish barbecued on the bone with a yellow wine sauce and harissa. It had shallots and small tender fungi with gorgeous currants and spinach. We also shared roasted eggplant that melted on our tongues. We planned to eat dessert, but we were perfectly sated. The restaurant is named after Elmer the elephant. This is truly a culinary gem. ✨ HighlightWe went here for lunch. Had high hopes for the Michelin rated restaurant. I was a little disappointed. Nothing really appealed to me and nothing jumped out as wow! There were also a few problems. The fish with the single mini clam, I almost had to spit out the clam because it was so fishy. The fish was ok…. The meat dish was strange, I don’t know which part of the cow this was from, but it had so much tendons and so much fat, didn’t get much out of it. Though the little I was able to carve out it did have a nice smoky flavor. We chose the four course prefix because our stomach hasn’t adjusted to the time zone and couldn’t eat that much which was technically our breakfast. There were some chips on the table. Unique. Liked them. The mushroom ravioli was ok. The first vegetable dish was meh. The dessert was ok. We were in a hurry by this time. If we had more time and our stomach was time adjusted, would have wanted to try the A5 wagyu for an extra $50. They gave different cutlery for each dish. Their service was up to Michelin standards. There is a single bathroom with a Japanese bidet. Would love to give this place another try next time we are in Paris.→

✨ HighlightTable is really overpriced for a 2* Michelin restaurant. We are welcomed by the chef/owner which is really nice. The service started very good, and we noticed that the quality of service went down a lot the further into the evening. The overall quality/taste/presentation of the food was not what we expected. We even didn’t finish some the courses that is been served, and we have never been asked why we didn’t finish the dish or whether we have enjoyed the food. However we did noticed that waiters who came to collect the finished dishes made weird eye contact to each other when we didn’t finish the food. Also some the courses are presented in plastic plates, and I think it’s not acceptable for that kind of restaurant.→

Our service was alright - waiter was not particularly helpful and a little bit short, but did an overall fine job. 4. Food - only complaint is that our pizza wasn’t super hot when it came out. Flavor was AMAZING but I am very temp sensitive, so that was a little bit of a bummer. Recommendations are the truffle pizza, beef carpaccio, and the puff pastry dessert that you dip in chocolate 5. The staff at the bar counter are super cool and passionate about the place they work in. We tasted a wide variety of wines and spirits. But the best part of it all was the dishes we had: half way between tapas and proper dishes, ideal for sharing and ordering a multitude of them. The even better surprise? The bill. Although it's not a cheap place, value for money's great, considering the quality and quantity of items ordered and wines tasted. Can't wait to be back! But beef was fine Confit duck flavour was impeccable, not the most crispy but the fats had the proper strong caramelised aroma. Very good And the dish that stunned: mille feuille pigeon. A dish that's a flex, the thinly sliced potatoes were superbly crispy and well caramelised, rare pigeon was tender and well charred too. Jus was thick. All around winner, this is a must try Souffle was super fluffy, light, sweet and well crusted. Flavour was great, although it's really quite sweet An institution not to be missed, get the pate, pigeon and souffle. They're expensive but for good reason, it's definitely value for money in terms of the technical precision as well as it translating to actual taste→

✨ HighlightWe had always wanted to dine at another female Michelin Chef’s (our other experience was with Pic in Singapore and London) so we really looked forward to Marsan. Lovely restaurant with impeccable service by a team led by Dimitri and the dishes were both beautifully presented as well as delicious. The Asian ingredients were interesting and the wine pairing introduced us to wines and vineyards we didn’t know before.
