Fan-blooming-tastic! My favourite restaurant in Paris so far. Expect a small but well selected menu, welcoming staff happy to answer questions and recommend wine for your meal. This is a must visit if you are in Paris ❤️
Early June had been on my "list" for awhile and I was finally able to get a reservation while in Paris. It's a very vibey wine bar with a list of rotating chefs. We were lucky enough to be there while Adam Purcell was chef in residence and enjoyed an incredible "French style" Irish cuisine with each plate leaving us wishing that we had ordered double servings. Do splurge on the fresh truffles for the boxty pancakes and do order one (or two) of everything.
We’ ve just visited Early June tonight August 22 2024 and were extremely disappointed by the unwelcoming attitude of the hostess/lady taking the waiting list. From the moment we arrived at the door, it was clear that professionalism was not a priority for them. We were 2 people so, at 7:00 we’ ve being told we’d be called in approximately 1 hour (or more). We said yes, the hostess took our number and we decided to wait and go to a nearby cocktail bar. Two and a half hours later, we passed by the bar to ask if there is a table available soon (note that we saw 2 empty available tables) and the hostess’ tone was curt and dismissive. We felt as if we were inconvenience rather than valued guests. To make matters worse, her attitude was snobby and condescending, saying "I didn’t call you so we don’t have a table". 3:30 hours later and we don’t have a call yet. The bar may have great food (we were not lucky to try it), but if the service starts off on such a negative note, it really sours the experience! The lady at the door is clearly NOT the right one.
Unless you are more than 2, don' t even bother showing up. Make a reservation first unless you want to be part of an imaginary waiting list held by an arrogant hostess.
