✨ HighlightMy aunt and uncle came to visit from the United States and have never tried Filipino cuisine — therefore I decided to bring them to Manam so that they may try some of the best that the Philippines has to offer. We ate to our hearts, content, celebrated, and enjoyed each other’s company because of the amazing food. I really enjoyed the Kare Kare and Laing. But Oh my, that Calamansi tart was decadent and to die for. Filipino food is among the best the world has to offer, at Manam we really felt the comfort of the dishes we shared!→

✨ HighlightWe were extremely disappointed because none of our expectations for the restaurant were met. The food tasted weird and bad so I was truly curious whether the chef has a unique tastebud unlike any others or something. The atmosphere were the open market type of casual so it gets noisy and somewhat annoying from time to time. What actually pissed me off the most was that the staff left me waiting at the counter for so long just to return me some change while he was there joking around with other staff members and my Grab driver was also mad for having to wait outside. Utterly unprofessional and unacceptable.→

✨ Highlightone of my favorite place to eat when in Manila “BUT” recently I got pretty disappointed with their food. presentation and service went from excellent to terrible. I Booked a private room with 4 big tables for my husband birthday. when we got there the room wasn’t ready, servers are nowhere to be found, the room was under a wrong name. Food was served extremely slow! We have to ask several times before they start bringing in food and water! Presentation wasn’t great, some food was over cooked. rice was served late (guests are eating the food without rice.) everything was served late and with two missing orders in one of the tables. Everything was set and ordered few days ahead so I wasn’t expecting that this will turn into a big mess which left me disappointed. Servers are somehow nice but the manager is rude. He never showed up in our room to ask or check if everything is okay (I see him walking in and out the other room checking if their food and if everything is complete). I feel embarrassed that my guests wasn’t able to enjoy the food which also ruined the mood of the celebration. With all this and with the price they charge me I won’t be using this restaurant on any kind of celebration anymore.→

I’ve had a lot of Chinese food for most of my life so I have an idea of what’s good and what’s not. Taste is subjective which is why I found Canton Road’s food to be so-so. What they do lack in flavor, they make up for in creativity of the dishes. I also appreciated the snappy service of the waitstaff. ✨ HighlightLocated at the 5th floor of the New Coast Hotel Manila, the place is just beside my workplace but it’s my first time dining here, and here is my first impression: Food is excellent, with big servings, and reasonable price. The food is so good we ended up asking to take home our “tira” after eating. We ordered the following: Kare-kare - their version is that of a huge beef still attached to a bone 😅 with a very creamy sauce and generous serving of bite-sized vegetables and sweet bagoong. It’s good for 2-3 persons but it can extend up to 4-5. Beef with broccoli - The beef is so tender, the broccoli is cooked to perfection. Pancit Canton- Coz it’s a birthday treat, we won’t miss ordering our traditional pancit, which did not disappoint. Non-alcoholic Berry Slushies - their best-seller, it sooo good-no need to elaborate. Service - 5-star very polite and friendly wait staff who patiently answered all our queries. Atmosphere - formal-business setting, cozy place. I haven’t got many pictures but the ambiance is nice, you can bring someone you want to impress. Overall, I was really surprised that the Market Cafe has a better ambiance than the one we always go to (the 5-star hotel in-front of our office). This definitely made my list of “for a change” go-to places/restaurants.→

✨ HighlightThey have been around since 1956, and for good reason. There are no seats or tables. This is a small stall serving only 4 options, reflecting the diversity of cultures food in Manila is best known for historically. See photo for those options. But they are most famous for their fresh spring rolls (lumpia). The lumpia are filled with nuts and a variety of cooked vegetables and a fresh lettuce. There’s sauce in the vegetables already but each order comes with a small packet of thick, brown sweet sauce. The taste of the fresh garlic paste gives it a good kick!→

✨ HighlightThis restaurant exudes elegance set on colonial setting. Just like the surrounding buildings, the structure is well preserved and you can feel like being taken back to the past. The food is good but I must say the serving is a bit lacking. For the prices, it could go a bit bigger than their current serving especially if its for sharing or groups. The service is excellent, staff are attentive and attends to guest's needs promptly. They also have a cultural dance show which makes the dining experience different from other establishments.→

✨ HighlightFood is good for the price. Bought Sisig a la carte for 75 and it’s very tasty. Slightly sweet and spicy. The portion was ok for the price so I wish I had bought more. I also got 4pcs lumpia for 35. Siksik yung filling and hindi lasang extenders. No complaints about the food. What I think they could improve on is having a visible menu with prices, even just on the side. The food they served (included in the ticket) is rice with pork steak (bistek), iced tea and a dessert that was served an hour or two later. The place was grander than I expected. That time, there was about 200+ people. Sound system was superb! The bass can be felt, and high and mid tones doesn't hurt the ears. Staff was great, presentable and really pleasant.
