one of my favorite place to eat when in Manila “BUT” recently I got pretty disappointed with their food. presentation and service went from excellent to terrible. I Booked a private room with 4 big tables for my husband birthday. when we got there the room wasn’t ready, servers are nowhere to be found, the room was under a wrong name. Food was served extremely slow! We have to ask several times before they start bringing in food and water! Presentation wasn’t great, some food was over cooked. rice was served late (guests are eating the food without rice.) everything was served late and with two missing orders in one of the tables. Everything was set and ordered few days ahead so I wasn’t expecting that this will turn into a big mess which left me disappointed. Servers are somehow nice but the manager is rude. He never showed up in our room to ask or check if everything is okay (I see him walking in and out the other room checking if their food and if everything is complete). I feel embarrassed that my guests wasn’t able to enjoy the food which also ruined the mood of the celebration. With all this and with the price they charge me I won’t be using this restaurant on any kind of celebration anymore.
Chinese food is always good here at East Ocean. Most important events like weddings, birthdays, baptism, engagements and more are held here. But sometimes, a good and simple meal brings people together.
My brother’s birthday is very special occasion in our family! And we chose to dine at East Ocean Seafood Restaurant. The main owners & management have become very good friends to us through the years since their Century Seafood Restaurant (before the sold the “name” to the current owners). We ate at the main dining room instead of the private dining room since Mom enjoyed being “outside”. Mom also had special dietary requirements and the kitchen of East Ocean knows how to prepare them under the very capable direction of Reagan ☺️👏🏼❤️⭐️☺️ What did we order? - Stir-fry Beef Tenderloin with Red & Green Capsicum and Onions - Chinese Bihon Guisado - Double-boiled Chicken and Bamboo Pith soup - Steamed Suahe - Lobsters in Superior Sauce - Steamed Hokkaido Scallops with Vermicelli - Braised Silken Beancurd with Sea Cucumber, Conpoy and Pork Floss - Crab and Corn Soup - East Ocean Fried Rice (the BEST fried rice, Uncle Roger! 🤣) - Birthday Noodles - MaLayKo (Steamed Cake) - Almond Lychee - Hot Almond Soup with Black Sesame Buchi - Hot Taro Soup Service was awesome! Food were excellently cooked! Thank you for making my brother’s birthday dinner wonderful!
East Ocean Palace ranks high up there. Definitely world class Chinese food. We had the roasted baby suckling pig, yang chow fried rice, sweet and sour pork, chicken feet (the best chicken feet ever!), spinach soup, salted fish fried rice and other dims items. All were delicious. Add the excellent service that made our experience unforgettable
