✨ HighlightUnBien doesn't need another 5-star review, but I'll reluctantly hand it to them. If you're in the mood for a sandwich that's so large, messy, and juicy that it requires its own bib, look no further. This Caribbean sandwich is packed with flavor, and the meat practically melts in your mouth. I naively thought half a sandwich would do the trick, but ended up devouring the whole thing—and let's just say, my stomach was in a food coma for the rest of the day! The place has a charmingly chaotic vibe where you order outside, and they've got outdoor seating if you want to enjoy your masterpiece right there!→

✨ Highlight**5 stars aren’t enough!** I can’t believe I didn’t visit La Tarasca sooner. I arrived just before they opened, and noticed the parking lot was already filled with people waiting in their cars—a great sign! Inside, we were warmly greeted by the owner, who shared her family’s rich history and the inspiration behind the restaurant. Instead of the usual chips, they served pickled carrots, which was a delightful and unique experience! I tried my first tamale here, and WOW, I never knew what I was missing. I also ordered the carnitas, and they were absolutely fantastic. I will definitely be back! Thank you so much!→

✨ HighlightFriends brought us here the day after Thanksgiving. Everything about our visit was excellent. Loved the cozy decor and seating, and the staff were super friendly. I had worked up an appetite and wanted 3 tacos, but they were $5.50 each and someone else was picking up the tab, so I ordered 2. At first sight, I questioned if they'd be enough. While they only loosely resembled a taco in form, each one was a little hand-crafted burst of flavor. The taco special of the day was pork with parsnip puree, cranberry, and pomegranate was next level. Even though I consider myself a taco purist, I was not complaining. I thoroughly enjoyed their interpretation. They were so enjoyable that 2 were plenty as a meal.→

✨ HighlightWhat better way of spending a Saturday afternoon than getting access to the number one breakfast burrito spot in DC. I’ve heard about La Tejana through different networks on social media. We got there around 11:30am and waited about 45 minutes until we placed our order. The order came out relatively quick, which was nice. It’s a cool little spot and a neighborhood gem. They are open from 7:30 AM to 1 PM and then they open again at 5 PM. They have a very friendly staff and the quality of their food is top tier. My friend and I sat upstairs, which had plenty of seating. I ended up getting four tacos and it was the perfect amount of food for me. My favorite was the 512. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like they do pick up orders. The restaurant has been open for about two years now and every weekend the line is out the door as you can see in the images. Looking forward to getting a chance to go back it’s probably less busier early in the morning.→

✨ HighlightI have much less experience with food from Central and South America and so I made a reservation with no real knowledge or expectations for what I would experience. I am happy to say that I was completely blown away by the food and the experience the chefs have created. They provided a full 14 course tasting menu the way I remember first experiencing them years ago. Not just little bites, but full courses that bring you through a full meal progression. Even though there is no meat, don’t think you won’t be fed. They give you full portions and the creativity of how they use mushroom, coconut, and other fruits and vegetables was refined and elevated. Each course had a story that was shared by a rotating team and sometimes by chefs themselves. I asked one of them why they had chosen to open a vegan restaurant. Their answer was that he wanted a challenge, a way to showcase food beyond caviar and wagyu. I think they have proven that with receiving their first star in only one year of service. I will definitely return with friends, with a strong warning to come hungry.→
