UnBien doesn't need another 5-star review, but I'll reluctantly hand it to them. If you're in the mood for a sandwich that's so large, messy, and juicy that it requires its own bib, look no further. This Caribbean sandwich is packed with flavor, and the meat practically melts in your mouth. I naively thought half a sandwich would do the trick, but ended up devouring the whole thing—and let's just say, my stomach was in a food coma for the rest of the day! The place has a charmingly chaotic vibe where you order outside, and they've got outdoor seating if you want to enjoy your masterpiece right there!
Nut allergy friendly: No dishes contain nuts! Order - to - Sandwich: Anywhere from 6-13 minutes with 7 people in front of me. They usually call names in sets of 4 so if you get unlucky you might miss a set. Seating is covered patio style with benches. There are enough seats for around 35 people probably. Parking is not too bad in the neighborhood nearby. I went halves with a friend to try: #1 Caribbean Roast (3.5/5): It was a nice sandwich, but I had a very dry end of pork shoulder in my sandwich that absolutely ruined the texture. The good parts were good, though. #2 The Press (4.5/5): Full of flavor, perfectly balanced with cheese and onion. I'd give this a 5/5 if it had arugula. Both sandwiches were very nicely toasted and ended up real messy to eat with the caramelized onions. Overall, a very different type of sandwich that is definitely worth a stop or short drive up from downtown.
Been going here for more years than I care to admit. Never disappoints. Always good food. We enjoy the pork sandwiches and the beans. Can’t go wrong!
Some of the best sandwiches I have had. We split the press and the Caribbean roast . both amazing in their own way. Roast was so succulent and had huge delicious onion pedals. Press was their riff on a Cuban. Loved the kick of banana peppers. Bread soft and crunchy. Definitely a take out or nice day kind of place as seating is only partially covered. If you are anywhere in Seattle it’s worth the drive. Friendly service. Good prices and portions.
