✨ HighlightAbsolutely phenomenal culinary experience. The food is always amazing - I've come on multiple occasions, over a few years - and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I had the ravioletto as my main this time, and it may have well been the best pasta dish I've ever had. For appetizers, we had crispy pork ear, bone marrow, and prosciutto wrapped persimmons; all were phenomenal. Of note, you really should make a reservation, especially if you plan to go for dinner, as it is very popular and frequently packed (and rightfully so). The only downside of how popular it is, besides the difficulty getting a reservation sometimes, is that it can be too noisy, especially on busy days/nights. But, overall, a spot that's not to be missed.→

✨ HighlightA must try restaurant in Chicago, highly rated and reviewed for good reason. A very unique breakfast and brunch and lunch menu. I highly recommend the “Tineka” sandwich- which includes the LULA special spicy peanut butter on fresh multi grain bread with so many other fresh flavors including the perfectly textured sprouts! Oh my goodness one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Service is very prompt and attentive. This place can be hard to get at a table on the weekends; easier during the weekdays for sure. Something to notice, they include a 20% service fee in the check, which they explain on a flyer thing when they drop the check. Overall great chill atmosphere, awesome music in the background and cool local art hanging on the walls. Delicious coffee ☕️ and lattes as well!→

✨ HighlightMy fiancé and I had a fabulous dinner on the back patio last night weekend. Everything is meant for sharing, which is our favorite because you get to try so many tasty things. All of the food was delicious but the raviolo and the donut dessert were the stand outs. Also got the Brussels sprouts, steak tartare and the short rib. The drinks were also delicious - the honey lavender lemonade + gin was so refreshing. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area.→

✨ HighlightHave done several one star restaurants both in Chicago and other cities, and now having an experience at Alinea I think I can finally articulate what the difference between a one star and a three star. The food itself was well presented, paced, and was an excellent experience across all senses. We did a wine pairing and also enjoyed the selection along with the personal service from the house sommelier. Atmosphere was excellent as well, while there are a good number of seats everything is segmented into small clusters of tables. Room is dimly lit and general noise level is nice. Where things really stand out is the service, silverware promptly changed, plates collected; staff were both friendly and incredibly attentive. This is really where you get the difference between a one and a three star - food may be the same level of presentation and quality, but the staff really shine. I think my only complaint would be timing & seating. Personally I enjoy when a group of tables is timed to be seated together. This not only makes the experience feel a bit more shared, and preserves the surprise for each dish. It doesn't detract much from the overall experience and I think if they went this route it might make maintaining the level of service they have challenging. Absolutely would return again in the future.→

✨ HighlightThis was my first Michelin Star experience. The thought and detail that go into the service and dishes are impeccable. Do yourself a favor and get the non-spirit pairing instead of the wine pairing. Each drink was related to the dish and each was delicious. Menu is seasonal and I went during the winter menu so ingredients used are what is most fresh this time of year. My favorite dish was coconut chicken soup and the grilled hiramasa fish. At the end they offer a tour of the kitchen and I was able to see the chefs at work and got a quick explanation on how they make this flawless service possible. The owner and chef, Curtis Duffy, was also there! Very expensive but worth the money in my opinion!→

✨ HighlightThe hot pot at Qiao Lin Hotpot is hands down the best I’ve had yet! The experience was so much fun, but I’d highly recommend bringing someone who’s familiar with hot pot if it’s your first time—the menu can feel a little overwhelming at first. One of the highlights for me was the sauce bar, where you can customize your own dipping sauce to match your taste—it really adds to the experience. They also had a great selection of desserts, which was a nice bonus. As for the food itself, everything was so fresh and delicious. ✨ HighlightPretty good tacos but not great. Fantastic ambiance when the weather is warm enough to sit in the patio. ✨ HighlightAmazing 5-course tasting menu blending Filipino and Cuban flavors. Each of our dishes were complex layers of flavors woven into an amazing experience. Cooking techniques were spot on. All three of us had a different favorite dish (arroz caldo / octopus / dessert). Service was attentive and courses were well paced. Good sized portions and attractively balanced plates. Very enjoyable experience! My only (very minor) critique is that our menu was entirely very rich dishes - would have liked one lighter course. Note: Reservations only, no walk-ins→

So we are heading there now. 1/2 pound shrimp was also ordered and although it was homemade and French fried, the shrimp really hardly had any flavor without the mild sauce. Mediocre at best for $11.29 per half pound. SOGGY fries :-(. Looking forward to our go-to of Fatso’s Last Stand. At least we tried Redhot Ranch. Not sure what the hype was.→

✨ HighlightI found out this place through Instagram reels, and was not disappointed when I came to visit. The store felt very similar to malls in China, and everything was clean and organized. The food options here are particularly unique, with everything from claypot to dim sum to sushi. We tried food from the 312 Fish Market, the claypot stall, and the Northeastern Food Stall. The mala beef burrito (麻辣牛肉卷)was definitely the best bang for your buck, but the salmon don had some of the best quality fish I've tasted. The claypot rice got better with time (I enjoyed it more as leftovers than in the initial meal), and the greens were tender and perfect for balancing out the meal. We also stopped at the bakery stall, which offered a fresh selection of bakery classics in addition to some trendy items such as puddings, mousses, and soufflé cakes. The cake was light and fluffy and the egg tarts had an excellent flaky pastry crust. I can't wait to come back and try more stalls! The boba shop downstairs also looked quite promising.→

✨ HighlightWe went check out this place a Sunday. We arrived at 12pm when the just opened up and there was already quite a line. We waited about 30mins to go inside. Ordered the famous rib tips and the JBL special combo so we try more stuff. It’s really good price with a huge portion. The food was tasty but I prefer a stronger flavor and less sweet. Also it would be great if there’s dine in option for freshly grilled bbq.→

✨ HighlightI loved this restaurant. I rarely get a chance to dine at fancy restaurants, but I was in Chicago for the weekend with a friend, and we decided to treat ourselves! The staff at Obélix were very courteous, and the food was delicious. We both got espresso martinis, and my friend got the Moroccan carrots and an escargot dish, I got the pistachio croissant (which looked like a work of art, I almost didn't want to eat it! ALMOST), and the pumpkin french toast. Everything tasted heavenly, and I will definitely be back!→

✨ HighlightWith an extensive selection of wines and a four-course prix fixe menu, the price was surprisingly affordable. The waitstaff were very nice and kind, but the only small issue was the waiting time between courses. After the first dish, we had to wait about 30 minutes for the next one. However, the pacing felt more natural after that and it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, we had a great time! In my personal opinion, they excel in seafood dishes.→

✨ Highlight"Oaxaca: The Story of Seven Moles" was a delightful introduction to the Mexican sauce and its variety of flavours. Every dish was exquisite in its own way, and the food-mole pairing was very well done. The wait staff were also patient in explaining each dish, though it was hard to catch as the accent was thick at times, but I see that as a sign of authenticity.→

✨ HighlightPat’s is on my list of best pizza spots in Chicago! The thin crust was one of the best I have ever had in my entire life! ✨ HighlightI’ve been following Beity’s journey to becoming a restaurant online for over two years, and to say that my expectations were high would be an understatement. I watched photos of stunning dishes populate my Instagram feed and couldn’t wait to see if the final dining experience would live up to them. After finally getting the opportunity to dine there last week, I can say that I couldn't have imagined my visceral response to the meal. (i.e., the final tasting scene in Ratatouille) As a Palestinian American who has always appreciated a tasting menu, I was genuinely moved to see such authentic Middle Eastern ingredients and dishes elevated to the caliber that Chef Ryan Fakih achieved with his menu. In today's world, where the Middle East is often at the forefront of global discussions, it feels more vital than ever to recognize and appreciate the beauty and complexity of its culture—especially its cuisine. I felt a profound emotional shift when I saw “Teta’s Tasting” at the top of the menu while sipping a "Tabouleh" cocktail. While I’ve had tasting menus highlighting every other cuisine, this felt like a true homage to our collective heritage and the immense love that can be found in our grandmother's dishes. From the moment I stepped into Beity, I was blown away by the warmth of the space. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with subtle touches that pay homage to a Lebanese home while maintaining a modern, refined atmosphere. Everyone I interacted with—from the hostess to the bartender to our server—was more welcoming than the last. Now, let's talk about the food. Each dish on the tasting menu was a work of art, meticulously crafted and beautifully presented. It’s one thing for a chef to create a new dish that nobody has ever seen before, but the dining experience felt like a master class in taking some of the most beloved dishes of my childhood to a Michelin-starred level. The Shish Barak, Sayadiah, and Qatayef were some of my absolute favorite dishes on the menu, so get your taste buds ready. Not to mention, the staff presented each of these dishes with a perfectly concise explanation of the dish and its significance to the chef, which gave the meal so much more context. The staff was always present for a question or a refill but never overbearing. The attention to detail while wiping down the table between each course did not go unappreciated, especially while representing a culture so driven by cleanliness. I went to this dinner with one of my friends for his birthday, but I can’t wait to bring the rest of my Palestinian family to experience one of the most special dining experiences I’ve had in a very long time. It's truly a culinary treasure that deserves all the praise it receives.→

✨ HighlightWe were looking for a place opened on a holiday and we came across Superkhana! I really enjoy finding places that offer creative dishes and we were in for a treat! The food was awesome, interesting twists on familiar dishes with new mixes and inventions. The service was really friendly and down to earth. They explained their menu in a way that made us all comfortable to ask questions and feel confident in knowing what to order. Since we were all sharing our order, they thoughtfully served us each dish sequentially as different courses and that worked out really well. We were intrigued to try out their ice cream in the dessert menu cuz we all love cardamom and they gave us a complimentary addition. Thank you for a wonderful evening and we look forward to returning!→

✨ HighlightWe've come here multiple times for dinner and a few times for breakfast pastries and coffees - amazing experience each time. For breakfast, there is always an ample amount of savory and sweet options in the pastry box. And the coffee selection is great. The vibes at this time are also great. It's an order at the counter experience, and you can dine in. There's usually lots of seating available, or you can grab it to go. People bring their laptops to work while enjoying their coffees. For dinner, we've gone as a date night and with a group of 6. Both experiences were excellent. For both occasions, we did shared plating - aiming to try as many pastas as possible :). Whatever is a seasonal sauce, make sure to get it. Their ingredients are so fresh and it really comes out in the flavor! The french onion dip is an easy add on. I can't wait to come back for the next season's menu. I also can't wait to come back and try lunch! It looked like they had salads and sandwiches for lunch that seem like a must try.→

✨ Highlightrevisited for the first time in years for a friend’s chicago marathon carbo-load and it was just as wonderful as i remembered. the food was delicious, and our server’s recommendations were fantastic. my only complaint is that we felt a draft come in every time the door opened despite there being two sets of double doors, and that our table was definitely too small for how many dishes we ordered 🤣 we tried the insalata di mare, funghi e salsiccia pizza, ciotta ciotta stuffed pizza, marathon spaghetti & meatballs, paccheri alla boscaiola pasta, sarracino pasta, scialatielli di nella pasta, and chocolate lava cake. their pizzas are delicious, but their pastas were definitely the highlight for me. i especially enjoyed the scialatielli di nella, which was a red sauce pasta with lobster and other seafood flavors. the mussels in it were super tasty, and they melted in my mouth when they were warm→

✨ HighlightCame on a Saturday night at 8pm and the wait was 30mins for 2ppl which wasn't too bad. While the wine selection was decent, the sake martini lacked a bit of oomph. Oysters (we got both the raw and grilled) and smoked scallops were interesting in a good way. The octopus was overcooked and too salty. The duck was excellent (we adored the gooseberries) and the side of fries went nicely with it. The chocolate dessert with smoked grapes was a perfect ending to the meal. Overall 7.5/10.→
