✨ HighlightAfter 4 years, we finally revisited Saravana Bhavan, and it felt like a warm, nostalgic hug! This iconic South Indian restaurant continues to deliver an unparalleled experience with its authentic flavors and impeccable quality. We indulged in a variety of dishes, starting with the classic masala dosa and onion masala dosa. Both were crisp, perfectly spiced, and paired wonderfully with the fresh coconut chutney and tangy sambar. The banana chips were an excellent addition, crunchy and seasoned just right, making for a delightful snack. The beverages were the highlight of our visit. The filter coffee was as rich and aromatic as we remembered, instantly transporting us to a South Indian household. The lemon soda was refreshing, offering the perfect balance of tanginess and fizz. What hasn’t changed is the restaurant’s consistent quality, swift service, and clean ambiance, even during busy hours. Saravana Bhavan is more than just a meal; it’s an experience that feels like coming home to timeless flavors. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic South Indian food. It was worth the wait, and we can’t wait to visit again!→

✨ HighlightI was looking for something a little bit special at the Indian Accent. Unfortunetly, whilst the food was good, it was not superb. I took the tasting menu and the reserve wine that was paired with each course (food £55 and wine £89) which comes to £144 (what I would expect to pay in a high end London restaurant). The wine measurements were far from generous, a couple of sips and gone, although did go quite well with each course. As for the food. Each course was pleasant enough but no dish had me begging for a second helping. Even the lamb shank for the main was a bit plain, although it did have gold leaf on it.→

✨ HighlightWent to Sorrento for an Italian dinner with a lot of expectations. Was seated promptly. The ambience is nice with an open kitchen. We were served an amuse-bouche of smoked breads and tapenade ( Finely chopped olives in its own oil). The breads were well smoked and went very well with the delicious Tapenade. A good start to the meal. Ordered the Grappa Negroni and Calm you Down. Both were well mixed. Recommended. Ordered the truffle burrata on a bed of mushrooms. Fresh and tasty but would have been even better if the mushrooms were little pickled or paired with some sundried tomatoes. The arancini was tasty but have tasted better. The wild mushroom risotto was excellent and recommended. We ordered a pepperoni pizza but were disappointed after the risotto. Lacked flavour. All ingredients were fresh. The service was by and large good except that we had to request for water to be refilled and the billing took a while. Normally, as we had informed regarding a birthday in our group, a five star service would have ensured a small gesture. This was lacking. Maybe economics have caught up and only prices of dishes become exorbitant. Only a few Hotels go that extra mile. Anyway, all in all a good experience.→

✨ HighlightFull five stars for this iconic place, I remember my parents taking me 40 years ago and now I take my boys there to experience this amazing bakery to keep the generational experience going. Their quality and service has been consistent, still using the three step formula, let me explain. Step 1 order what you want and get a receipt. Step 2 take the receipt to the cashier to pay for the items and get another receipt Step 3 show the receipt to collect your items. This three step process works if you are purchasing one to multiple items, same process and it works brilliantly. You can hear the dot matrix printer buzzing away printing receipts. Place is always busy never a dull moment. Their cakes and pastries are legendary, hot food items are good too - veg, chicken, mutton patties. Biscuits of many sorts, too many sugary treats to keep you coming back for more. Check out the photos. No seating is available, take away only, recently they have opened up a Deli shop on the side if you want to sit down and eat. Some may say its just another bakery, well tell them how many places have been operating successfully for 100+ years in this Insta half life era. Here’s to another 100 years of baking.→

✨ HighlightHighly overrated restaurant. While the dimsums were very good, the portions were tiny (3 dimsums/plate). Also, though the sparkling wine went well with the dimsums, a serving of 125 ml seemed too little to even wet one's throat. The main course: the handpulled noodles seemed no different from the ones served by roadside Chinese vans. The red snapper, too, resembled more a macher-jhol than a Cantonese preparation. Cocktails were limited and alcohol was exhorbitantly priced. Only one beer was available. The sommelier/maître d'hôtel suggested a white wine to go with the braised lamb and the red snapper. But both dishes being rather spicy, the wine seemed bland alongside, and failed to make any impression whatsoever. Naturally, the sommelier lacks training. Either Michelin has gone to the dogs, or the supposed star is a hoax! Not worth the near 10 grand paid for the lunch (2 adults and a 7-year-old kid). Upon enquiry, was told that the chef only cooks in the Bombay restaurant. Total disaster!→

The Vietnamese iced coffee was delicious(made with condensed milk, can’t substitute it for any other milk), and the cappuccino was also decent(albeit a bit too strong for my taste). We also tried their chocolate cookie along with the croissants(raspberry, pistachio, chocolate and others) and they were scrumptious too. Seating is available on ground and 1st floor. Restroom is on the ground floor, and can use some cleaning(I am a firm believer of restroom cleanliness directly reflecting the kitchen/food preparation area cleanliness). Staff is courteous but the service is slow. We arrived around 6:30 when the restaurant was empty, we were the only customers but the food came really late. It was disappointing. Iced Tea was very bland. Felt like they have used one Nestea sachet for 2 drinks 🥲. Ordered the Chef Special Dry Chilli Pork but it was like very dry. It was just some deep fried meat pieces tossed with some chilli and onion and lacked flavours. The Chicken Thali was good though. Full of authentic flavours but I would be honest it is not my palate. ✨ HighlightWe went to this famous eatery with pretty high expectations... but our experience did not match the same. Whereas Bhaturas were good.. soft, well cooked, with no smell of oil, Cholas were just good enough, with nothing remarkable about them. I believe, like some other iconic historic eateries, this one also has grown beyond its capacity to manage tremendous increase in their number of clients... thus affecting its quality. Or, possibly, the original recipe has been diluted while passing the same to new cooks over decades. This was my and my wife's first visit to this eatery. Since the place was overcrowded, we got bhaturas and cholas packed and had them at our home. While waiting, we tried their Lassi... it was quite refreshing. In case you are coming in your car, I suggest you park it on the slip road parallel to the Ring Road and walk down... it is just about 2 minutes' walk.→
