Ping Hu Qiu Yue, meaning 'Autumn Moon on Calm Lake', is one of the most beloved scenic spots along Hangzhou's West Lake. Located west of the Bai Causeway in Xihu District, this park offers a serene escape with its classical Chinese gardens, willow-lined paths, and a famous pavilion dedicated to moon-gazing. The centerpiece is a lakeside platform where, on clear autumn nights, the moon's reflection shimmers on the still water, a scene that has inspired poets for centuries. During the day, visitors can stroll through the park's lotus ponds, admire ancient stone carvings, and enjoy panoramic views of the lake and surrounding hills. Een stukje geschiedenis

The site dates back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and was a favorite of the poet Bai Juyi. The current pavilion was rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). It is one of the 'Ten Scenes of West Lake', a UNESCO World Heritage site.
