Fox Theatre

The Fox Theatre is Atlanta's most opulent and beloved performance venue, a lavish 1929 movie palace whose interior was designed to evoke an exotic Moorish courtyard, complete with a domed 'sky' ceiling twinkling with 'stars' and drifting clouds, ornate Egyptian and Arabian detailing, and the mighty 'Mighty Mo' Möller pipe organ. Un po' di storia

Opened in 1929, originally part-conceived as a Shriners temple before becoming a grand movie palace, the Fox narrowly escaped demolition in 1975 when the 'Save the Fox' campaign rallied the city. Restored and run by a nonprofit, it became a National Historic Landmark and Atlanta cultural institution.
