Catedral Primada de Bogotá, also known as the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, is the largest and most important Catholic church in Colombia. Situated on the historic Plaza de Bolívar in the heart of La Candelaria, this neoclassical masterpiece dominates the square with its grand facade and twin towers. Inside, the cathedral features a soaring nave, ornate altars, and beautiful stained glass windows. The main altar houses a revered statue of the Virgin Mary, and the side chapels contain works of colonial art and relics of saints. The cathedral is still an active place of worship, hosting daily Mass and special ceremonies. Visitors can attend services or simply admire the architecture and peaceful atmosphere. Its central location makes it a natural starting point for exploring Bogotá's historic center.
