The Carbide and Carbon Building is a historic Art Deco skyscraper located at 230 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago's Loop. Completed in 1929, its distinctive dark green and gold terracotta cladding is said to resemble a champagne bottle, with the green representing the bottle and the gold the foil. The building was originally the headquarters for the Union Carbide and Carbon Corporation.
