Sepahsalar Mosque, also known as the Shahid Motahari Mosque, is one of the largest and most significant mosques in Tehran. Located near Baharestan Square, it was built in the late 19th century during the Qajar era. The mosque features a grand entrance portal, two minarets, and a large central courtyard surrounded by arcades. Inside, the prayer hall is adorned with intricate tilework, mirror mosaics, and a beautiful dome. Visitors can explore the complex, which also includes a theological school (madrasa) and a library. Built between 1879 and 1884 under the patronage of Mirza Hossein Sepahsalar, a prominent Qajar statesman, the mosque was designed to serve as both a religious and educational center. It later became known as Shahid Motahari Mosque after the Islamic Revolution.
