The Qingdao Aquarium, also known as Qingdao Underwater World, is China's oldest public aquarium, opened in 1932. It sits on the shore of Huiquan Bay next to the No. 1 Bathing Beach in Shinan District. The aquarium consists of four main exhibition halls connected by tunnels, with a moving platform that takes visitors through a tunnel where you can see fish from every angle. Mermaid shows are a popular attraction.

Un peu d'histoire
The aquarium originated from an initiative launched by educator Cai Yuanpei in 1930 and first opened to the public on May 8, 1932. It has been listed as a major historical and cultural site protected by Shandong Province since 2006.
