I ordered brisket, pork ribs, beans, cornbread, sausage, and mac and cheese. The brisket fell apart beautifully but lacked flavor and was lukewarm. The pork ribs also looked appealing, though they were a bit salty and lukewarm. The beans were excellent, especially if you enjoy a Spanish-style preparation. The cornbread and mac and cheese earned a solid five stars from me. The sausage was just okay, and the BBQ sauce was also mediocre. I recommend that the restaurant keep the meat in the warmer until it’s ordered to prevent it from being served cold.→

I arrived just before they opened, and noticed the parking lot was already filled with people waiting in their cars—a great sign! Inside, we were warmly greeted by the owner, who shared her family’s rich history and the inspiration behind the restaurant. Instead of the usual chips, they served pickled carrots, which was a delightful and unique experience! I tried my first tamale here, and WOW, I never knew what I was missing. ✨ HighlightNice, small, quaint place. My friend and I went on a Fri for lunch. Nico was our host. He was very helpful with the menu and just overall service was superb. Drinks were made by Nico and he did not disappoint. The jerk wings were delicious especially with the dipping sauce that came with them. We also tried the Trini beef pie. He stated it was spicy but we didn't get any spice, it's was still flavorful. My friend did a personal bowl, I think that's what it was called. It came with roti, curried chicken, and chick peas. The dish did not disappoint. I ordered the pepperpot off the dinner menu. It had brisket, beef stew meat, and oxtail. The flavors were great. Personally I would've liked a bit more oxtail, especially since I got all fat from the brisket. We shared the bread pudding. The bread pudding was a bit overcooked. It wasn't most in the middle and very hard on the outside→

✨ HighlightAbsolutely loved our time here. The food was delicious and you can tell a lot of thought and time went into conceptualizing and preparing the dishes. The fried chicken and juicy and flavorful, the biscuit was amazing too. The grits with shrimp was very tasty and beautifully presented. The restaurant is in the oldest hotel in WA and has such great rustic charm. It's animal friendly and you're bound to be greeted by a dog or cat at some point, which adds to the fun. Can't wait to go back.→
