Finally made it to Caruso's Grocery for dinner with a friend and it did not disappoint. A wonderful ambiance with good food i can see why it's always busy. Definitely a great choice. Here are my takeaways: Environment Caruso's Grocery has a wonderful ambiance - its cozy and intimate making it great for dinner with friends, with a romantic partner or for a good time by yourself. It is usually busy so make sure you get reservations a head of time. Service The service was great. The server made sure we had everything we needed and helpfully guided me, a first timer though the menu. Our food and drinks came out quickly and the server was welcoming and polite through out the full experience. Food and Drinks The food was pretty good. I had the tomato braised meatballs, shrimp alfredo and classic tiramisu. The standouts were the meatballs and the tiramisu both flavorful and tasty. The alfredo was good but i would love to try other food on the menu. And how can I forget my drink! the Limoncellotini was delightfully refreshing and tasty. i would definitely try this drink again. Overall Overall Caruso's offered good food with a great ambiance. I will definitely return to try other items on the menu.
My wife and I got the chance to visit Caruso Grocery recently and it did not disappoint. Caruso is arguably named one of the best Italian restaurants in DC. The service was great. It’s a small restaurant which makes it feel a little more exclusive. We started off with cocktails, the Garlic Bread, Caesar Salad and the meatballs. The garlic bread stole the show on the appetizer side. The meatballs were a little too firm for me. I think it’s because they were pork. I prefer beef but they were good. Next up was the main course, I ended up choosing the spicy Ragu and my wife chose one of the special dishes (Fusilli). Her dish was AMAZING. Not going to lie, I was pretty envious. Im happy she gladly shared. To close we finished off with the Oreo cheesecake and Nutella cannoli. The cheesecake was phenomenal but the Nutella cannoli’s were not it. I thought it was going to have Nutella inside but it was an odd filling that tasted nothing like Nutella. The restaurant has an intimate feel to it and they have a great team. Look forward to coming back.
This restaurant definitely lives up to its hype food wise. Each pasta dish was extremely tasty. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Only took one star off because the atmosphere is lacking a sense of coziness. Our table was right in the middle of the room which gave it a bit of a fish bowl feel. But food was A+. Would return!
This place is so cute ! Perfect for a romantic dinner, great eats and a cool ambiance. Our server was solid and knowledgeable and they are able to be attentive but also allow you to enjoy your time. Not too bad when it comes to parking for me- I normally can always find street. I love a place where you can find good crafted cocktails. This is definitely one of those places!
