Villa La Rotonda (officially Villa Almerico Capra) is one of the most famous villas in the world, a perfect cube topped by a dome, with identical porticoes on each side. Set on a gentle hill just outside Vicenza, it was designed as a suburban retreat for a retired priest. The symmetry and harmony of the building are breathtaking, with each facade offering a different view of the surrounding countryside. Inside, the central circular hall rises through two stories, lit by the dome above. The villa is furnished with period pieces and frescoes. Visitors can explore the interior rooms, stroll through the gardens, and admire the iconic silhouette that has inspired countless buildings worldwide.
