The Arco delle Scalette is a striking Baroque arch located at the base of Monte Berico in Vicenza. It was built in the 16th century to commemorate the end of a plague and serves as the grand entrance to the long staircase (Scalette) leading up to the Sanctuary of Monte Berico. The arch is adorned with statues and reliefs depicting saints and allegorical figures. Visitors can climb the 192 steps of the Scalette, which offer panoramic views of the city and surrounding hills. The arch itself is a popular photo spot, especially at sunset when the light highlights its intricate details. It is a symbol of Vicenza's resilience and faith.
