The Basilica of Saints Felix and Fortunatus is a hidden gem in Vicenza, dating back to the 4th century. It is one of the earliest Christian sites in the city, built over a Roman necropolis. The current structure, largely from the 12th century, features a simple Romanesque facade and a beautiful crypt. Inside, visitors can see early Christian mosaics and frescoes that hint at its ancient origins. The basilica is dedicated to two local martyrs, Felix and Fortunatus, and remains an active place of worship. Its quiet, contemplative atmosphere contrasts with the bustling city center, offering a peaceful retreat. The adjacent cloister and museum house archaeological finds from the site.
