Grande Plage de Carnac is the longest and most popular beach in the area, offering two kilometers of fine golden sand and gentle, south-facing slopes. The beach is divided into several sections, with the main area near the town center featuring lifeguard supervision in summer, showers, and nearby restaurants. The shallow waters are ideal for swimming and families with children. To the east, the beach becomes more natural and less crowded, merging with dunes and pine forests. Windsurfing, sailing, and paddleboarding are common activities, with rental facilities available. The beach also hosts events like sandcastle competitions and beach volleyball. Its orientation ensures sunshine throughout the day, making it a perfect spot for sunbathing and sunset walks.

Don't miss

  • Swim in the calm, shallow waters perfect for children.
  • Try windsurfing or sailing at the beach's nautical base.
  • Walk east towards the Pointe de Churchill for a quieter, natural setting.
  • Enjoy a meal at one of the beachfront cafés or crêperies.
  • Watch the sunset over the bay from the western end of the beach.
