The Alignments of Ménec are the most famous and extensive of the Carnac megalithic sites. This vast field contains 1,169 standing stones arranged in 11 roughly parallel rows that extend for about 1.1 kilometers. The stones vary in height from under a meter to over 3 meters, with the tallest at the western end. Walking among these ancient stones, you can feel the mystery of their purpose, whether for astronomical observation, religious rituals, or social gathering. The site is well-preserved and offers a unique glimpse into Neolithic Europe. A visitor center provides context, and you can walk along designated paths to view the alignments up close.
