Quiapo Church, officially the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, is a focal point of Filipino Catholic devotion. The church houses the centuries-old Black Nazarene statue, believed to be miraculous, which is the centerpiece of the massive January procession. Visitors experience a vibrant, crowded atmosphere with devotees often seen walking on their knees as an act of penance.
