The square is a focal point for political demonstrations, celebrations, and public gatherings. Lined with cafes and restaurants, it's a popular spot for both locals and tourists to relax and people-watch. The area was heavily damaged during the Lebanese Civil War but has been beautifully restored, blending old-world charm with modern vitality.
