Sharjah Fort, also known as Al Hisn, is a beautifully restored 19th-century fortification in the heart of Sharjah. Originally built in 1823, it served as the residence of the ruling Al Qasimi family and a defensive stronghold. Today, it operates as a museum offering a glimpse into the emirate's history and culture. Visitors can explore its coral-stone walls, watchtowers, and traditional wind towers. Inside, exhibits include historical photographs, weapons, pottery, and household items that illustrate daily life in old Sharjah. The fort also hosts temporary art and cultural exhibitions.
