B. B. D. Bagh, formerly known as Dalhousie Square, is the historic and commercial heart of Kolkata. This grand square is surrounded by imposing colonial-era structures, including the iconic Writers' Building, the General Post Office, and the Raj Bhavan. Visitors can stroll around the tank (water body) at the center, which was once part of the Maratha Ditch, and admire the blend of Gothic and Indo-Saracenic architecture. The area buzzes with office workers, vendors, and heritage tram cars, offering a glimpse into Kolkata's colonial past and its vibrant present.
