Yinding Bridge

Yinding Bridge, also known as the Silver Ingot Bridge, is a charming marble arch bridge spanning the narrowest point of Shichahai Lake in central Beijing. Its name derives from its shape, which resembles a silver ingot (yuanbao), a traditional Chinese currency symbolizing wealth. The bridge is a popular spot for photographers and locals alike, especially at sunset when the golden light reflects off the water and the distant Drum Tower frames the scene. Walking across the bridge, you'll see willow trees lining the lake, traditional hutong alleyways, and the occasional rickshaw passing by. What makes Yinding Bridge distinctive is its role as a gateway to the historic Shichahai area, a network of three lakes surrounded by centuries-old residences, temples, and bars. Một chút lịch sử

Yinding Bridge was first built during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) and later rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. It was a key crossing over the waterway connecting the lakes, used by imperial officials and merchants. The bridge's silver ingot design was considered auspicious, bringing good fortune to those who crossed it.
