Forte de Santo Antonio Alem do Carmo is a well-preserved fortress located in the Santo Antonio neighborhood of Salvador, Bahia. Built in the 17th century by the Portuguese, it was part of the city's coastal defense system. Today, the fort offers visitors panoramic views of the Bay of All Saints and the Lower City. Inside, you'll find original cannons, thick stone walls, and a small museum displaying artifacts from the colonial era. The fort is less crowded than other tourist sites, providing a peaceful atmosphere to explore. Its strategic location on a hill makes it a great spot for photography, especially at sunset. The surrounding area is rich in history, with cobblestone streets and colorful colonial buildings.

Một chút lịch sử

Constructed between 1695 and 1700 to protect Salvador from Dutch and pirate attacks. It later served as a military prison and was restored in the 20th century. Now a public landmark.
