King Abdulaziz Historical Center

King Abdulaziz Historical Center is a heritage complex in Riyadh that includes the Murabba Palace compound, the National Museum, parks, and cultural institutions. It was King Abdulaziz ibn Saud's main residence and workplace from 1938 to 1953. Today, you can explore restored palace buildings, gardens, and museums that focus on Saudi history.

• The center covers 360,000 square meters south of al-Murabba and north of al-Futah districts.
• It is not the historic city center; that lies south around Masmak fort and Qasr al-Hukm District.
• The complex includes six municipal parks and gardens, making it a green space in central Riyadh.

Um pouco de história

The Murabba Palace was built in 1936/37 about 1.5 km north of the old city walls. After 1953 it fell into disuse, then was restored and expanded for the centennial celebrations.
