Yuexiu Mountain

Yuexiu Mountain is a sprawling urban park in the heart of Guangzhou, covering about 92 hectares. It is the city's largest green space and a beloved recreational area for locals and tourists alike. The park is built around a series of low hills, with winding paths, lush subtropical vegetation, and several historical landmarks. The most famous is the Five Rams Statue, a large sculpture that symbolizes Guangzhou's legendary founding. Another highlight is the Zhenhai Tower, a five-story Ming Dynasty structure that now houses the Guangzhou Museum, showcasing artifacts from the city's long history. Visitors can climb the tower for sweeping views of the city skyline. The park also contains a large lake with paddle boats, a sports complex, and numerous pavilions. Een stukje geschiedenis

Yuexiu Mountain has been a significant site since the Qin Dynasty (221–206 BC) and was part of the city's ancient fortifications. The Zhenhai Tower was built in 1380 during the Ming Dynasty as a watchtower, later becoming a museum.
