Het Vissersbastion is een neogotisch terras in de Burchtwijk van Boeda, gebouwd tussen 1895 en 1902 ter herdenking van het 1000-jarig bestaan van de Hongaarse staat. De zeven sprookjesachtige torens symboliseren de zeven Magyaarse stamhoofden die Hongarije stichtten. Bezoekers kunnen de torens beklimmen voor een weids uitzicht over de Donau naar het parlementsgebouw en Pest. De witte stenen constructie, met zijn sierlijke trappen en uitkijkpunten, is een geliefde plek voor fotografie en romantische wandelingen, vooral bij zonsondergang wanneer de stad lichten beginnen te fonkelen.

Een stukje geschiedenis
The original walls date from the 1700s and were part of the Buda Castle fortifications. In the Middle Ages, this section was protected by the guild of fishermen, who lived in the nearby Fishtown. The current structure was built between 1895 and 1902 by architect Frigyes Schulek on the base of the old castle walls. It was severely damaged in World War II and restored by 1953.
