Fisherman's Bastion

역사 이야기

The original walls date from the 1700s and were part of the Buda Castle fortifications. In the Middle Ages, this section was protected by the guild of fishermen, who lived in the nearby Fishtown. The current structure was built between 1895 and 1902 by architect Frigyes Schulek on the base of the old castle walls. It was severely damaged in World War II and restored by 1953.
