Shanghai Zhongshan Park

Shanghai Zhongshan Park is a sprawling urban green space in the Changning district, named after Sun Yat-sen (Zhongshan). Covering over 20 hectares, it's one of Shanghai's oldest and most beloved parks. The park blends natural beauty with recreational facilities: a large central lake where you can row boats, winding paths shaded by ancient plane trees, and formal gardens with seasonal flowers. Un po' di storia

Originally built in 1914 as the Jessfield Park (a private garden), it was renamed Zhongshan Park in 1945 after Sun Yat-sen. It was once home to the Shanghai Zoo until the zoo moved to a larger site in the 1950s.
