The Temple of Augustus and Rome is a rare architectural gem that dates back to the 1st century AD. Built to honor the Roman Emperor Augustus, the temple's walls bear the Res Gestae Divi Augusti, a first-person account of Augustus's achievements carved in Latin and Greek. This inscription is one of the most important surviving Roman historical documents.
