Lahore Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in South Asia, located on Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam near the lush Bagh-e-Jinnah gardens. The zoo houses a diverse collection of animals, including mammals, birds, and reptiles, in enclosures that range from historic cages to modern habitats. Visitors can see lions, tigers, elephants, and a variety of monkeys, as well as a reptile house and an aquarium. The grounds are shaded by mature trees, making it a pleasant place for a stroll. While some facilities show their age, the zoo is a popular spot for families and school trips. What makes it distinctive is its long history and central location, offering a green escape in the bustling city. The zoo also has a small museum and a children's play area.
