The Afrasiab Museum of Samarkand is dedicated to the history and culture of the ancient city, housing a rich collection of artifacts unearthed from the Afrasiyab site. Its centerpiece is the renowned 7th-century Afrasiab murals, vivid frescoes from the palace of the Sogdian king Varkhuman. The museum also displays pottery, coins, tools, and sculptures that illustrate daily life, trade, and art along the Silk Road. Exhibits are arranged chronologically, guiding visitors through millennia of Samarkand's past.
