The SS Breda was a Dutch cargo ship sunk by German bombers in 1940 while anchored in the Firth of Lorn. Today, the wreck lies upright in about 30 meters of water, largely intact with its cargo of military vehicles and munitions still visible. It is considered one of Scotland's best wreck dives, offering advanced divers a chance to explore the engine room, bridge, and holds. Strong currents and limited visibility require experience, but the site's historical significance and marine life make it a memorable dive.

Don't miss

  • Explore the intact holds containing wartime vehicles and munitions.
  • Penetrate the engine room and bridge (for qualified divers).
  • Observe marine life such as pollock, conger eels, and anemones encrusting the wreck.
