Never in my life! My friend suggested we try Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant. It’s not something I would usually do as it’s not really my scene, but I was absolutely blown away. The food, oh my goodness, the food was absolutely incredible! A 9-course menu, and yes, the portions are small, but with so many courses, it ends up being a lot of food. The dishes were outstanding. My favorites were the cappuccino soup to start, the salad (the best I’ve ever eaten in my life, I wish I could recreate it at home), the cheese bites, the langoustine ravioli, and the dessert, wow, wow, wow! The only course I didn’t love was the fish, which I found a bit bland. The service was next level. The crockery and cutlery is also absolutely beautiful. Having worked in restaurants in my youth, I can say the service here was on a completely different scale. Absolutely flawless, well done to the team! The atmosphere, however, felt a bit stuffy. It seemed like people were too focused on sitting upright and maintaining appearances rather than fully enjoying themselves. It’s a shame because it slightly took away from such a lovely experience. Overall, it was an amazing experience and absolutely worth the investment.
A beautiful experience. We arrived right at open and the service was incredible to start but slowly dialed back as the restaurant filled up. At times this meant we had dirty dishes in front of us for a good while. So we went from being astonished to slightly disappointed when we had our expectations set as one thing and saw it devolve over time. The food itself was excellent with one dish in particular being arguably the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. If I had a critique it was a blue cheese desert at the end that neither of us liked and couldn’t bother to try more than one bite- they should get rid of that dish completely. If you abstain from alcohol, you’ll enjoy the Non-alcoholic pairings for your dinner, though there was an over reliance on vinegars. For those who enjoy alcohol, the wine pairing was great! And at the end they even allowed me the fun of piecing together my own desert wine flight which did not disappoint. Lastly, I’ll comment that the flatware was gorgeous and there was a course where we got to select our knife from their collection. A lot of fun. Overall an excellent experience and I’d love to come back.
I eat several times a year at restaurants with a Michelin star (1,2,3) for business and sometimes private purposes. In the same week that I ate at the Burgemeester in Linschoten (1 star and much better in my opinion) I went to this Gorden Ramsey restaurant with my family. This was by far the most expensive dinner we have eaten so far because you could only choose the prestige menu and the service allowed itself a huge tip, but the performance was very substandard. The restaurant was not open upon arrival. several groups were waiting because they had made reservations. The entire dinner the service food went quickly and we were outside again within 2 hours. And not a single dish that we had was the feeling that it was surprising and splendid . We spend three time as much as in the 1 star restaurant in NL. . For the rest, we thought every day in London was great! What a magnificent city.
I had wanted to eat here for years and this was my Birthday/Christmas present from my partner... And, what a present it was. From start to finish this was a 3* experience. When I saw the menu a couple of weeks before I had to tell my partner it would not have been my choice as I'm not keep on much sea food! However, every dish was absolutely amazing and delicious. When cooked to this standard it tastes totally different from lower grade restaurants. I've only ever liked every dish of a taster menu 3 times and this is the latest. We shall definitely go back sometime.
