Truly a culinary experience that must be had. Local ingredients cooked to perfection. It was difficult to get a reservation and for good reason - the food and service were outstanding. Those scallops and bacon - wow! My only regret is that we could not order the full menu. Choose your plate and add sides to share. The staff is so attentive and will provide great recommendations. The team we had waiting on us were true professionals. Oh, and make sure you don’t miss the best pint of Guinness in the big smoke.
The talk of the town... everyone wants to go, many people can't get a booking because of the popularity, but I finally managed to get in... Excellent, would be the best way to summarise the experience. Lovely pub with 2 floors of dining for the restaurant. I like that because next time I will ask for the the floor I hadn't been on. Pub was busy, with a good atmosphere. Menu was good, food delicious. Highly recommend the scallops and the suet pudding! Price was fair, service was spot on. Very happy with my visit and will recommend it to my friends.
I visited this establishment following a positively glowing review in a newspaper. One is greeted to a very small room, with tables so close one can hear ones fellow diners breathing. On one side of the room the fires produce significant heat, so in the position I sat was seared at the back whilst at the same time the aircon running freezing air to the front....... The newpaper review made reference to the 'excellent value' I suppose if you want a small prawn cocktail, an odd joint of meat on a bone, where one can tear away at what little meat there is and toffee pudding for £35 ( with service charge) that might be considered 'value' for some. However , I was not tempted by this delight and ordered 2 rump steaks, a biittle of water ( no name on bottle and filtered) 2 glasses of the most awful Merlot at £9.50 a glass, making a grand total of £138 for steak and chips! I would not choose to be stuck in such an environment and pay fine dining prices; at this money one can go to a proper restaurant and enjoy the experience. Steak and chips was ok, after waiting 45 minutes for it.
Very busy place with amazing food. We were served by a girl called Rokhiya, who was absolutely fantastic. Best service we received in London by miles.
