The atmosphere was warm and cozy, though the acoustics were poor. Unfortunately, the food didn’t impress us, especially at this price point. We came for dinner and between the two of us, we shared the dressed crab (good but messy to eat), leek pie (good flavour but a bit too rich and creamy for me), pork (it wasn't overly tender), the french fries (was not hot) and lettuce (ok but at the end of the day, it's just lettuce and cost £6).

I think the ambiance is stunning, they've really done up the place. But that's where the good review ends. The service wasn't friendly at all, asking for a drink at the bar it was like you weren't welcome being served. When the food arrived, the flavours were underwhelming. The cod cheeks tasted oily, more oil than fish. The curry sauce had only a wisp of spice, and tasted like plain aioli. The chips were unremarkable like you'd find in a wing shop. The scotch egg had a jammy egg, but the mince itself lacked flavour. Just a forgettable and unremarkable experience.

I loved this place. We went to the pub rather than the restaurant but it was still all pretty high-end - very high quality pub grub like sausage and mash or steak and chips, but superbly done and served with decent wine and exceptionally friendly and attentive service. It’s very much not an old-fashioned booze. It was packed and everyone seemed happy.

Amazing pub which brings you not only a fine dining experience but wonderful service too. The staff were very accommodating and I very much enjoyed the experience. Will definitely return.
