Bluff Point State Park is a 800-acre coastal reserve at the mouth of the Poquonnock River. Visitors can hike or bike along wooded trails that lead to a natural beach with views of Fishers Island Sound. The park is a haven for birdwatchers, with osprey and herons commonly spotted. Its undeveloped shoreline offers a quiet escape from Mystic's busier attractions.

Don't miss

  • Hike the 3.5-mile loop trail through oak-hickory forest and along the bluff
  • Birdwatch for osprey, herons, and migratory shorebirds
  • Relax on the natural beach or fish from the shore
