The Derwent Pencil Museum in Keswick celebrates the region's long association with pencil manufacturing. Housed in a former pencil factory, the museum displays the world's largest pencil, a 26-foot-long giant, alongside exhibits on the evolution of pencil-making from graphite mining to modern production. Visitors can see a replica of a secret pencil used by WWII spies, which contained a hidden map. The museum also offers a chance to try drawing with various Derwent products and learn about the famous Cumberland Pencil Company.
