The Strathspey Railway is a lovingly restored heritage line that runs steam and diesel trains for 10 miles through the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Starting from Aviemore station, the journey passes through forests, moorland, and along the River Spey, with stops at Boat of Garten and Broomhill (known as 'Glenbogle' from the TV series Monarch of the Glen). Visitors can ride in vintage carriages, visit the museum at Aviemore, and enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere of a bygone era. The railway operates seasonally, with special events like Santa trains and whisky-themed trips.
