The Schynige Platte Alpine Garden is a living museum of alpine flora, situated on the Schynige Platte ridge at nearly 2,000 meters. Established in 1927, it is one of the oldest and highest alpine gardens in Switzerland. The garden displays over 600 species of plants native to the Swiss Alps, arranged in natural rock gardens and meadows that mimic their wild habitats. Visitors can stroll along winding paths, reading informative signs that identify species such as edelweiss, gentians, and alpine roses. The garden is seamlessly integrated into the surrounding landscape, offering breathtaking views of the Jungfrau massif. It is a peaceful place to learn about alpine ecology while enjoying the crisp mountain air.
