Schilthorn rises dramatically above the Lauterbrunnen Valley, providing one of Switzerland's most accessible high-altitude experiences. Visitors ascend via cable car from Stechelberg or Mürren, passing through intermediate stations at Gimmelwald and Birg. At the summit, the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant completes a full rotation every hour, allowing diners to enjoy ever-changing vistas of the surrounding 360-degree Alpine panorama, including the famous trio of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The viewing platform offers clear sightlines to Mont Blanc on clear days. The site also features the interactive 'Bond World' exhibition, celebrating the mountain's role in the 1969 James Bond film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'. Schilthorn is distinct for its combination of natural beauty and cinematic history, making it a must-visit for both hikers and film enthusiasts.
