Mount Ulia is a forested ridge that rises just east of San Sebastián's old town, forming a natural green barrier between the city and the open sea. A network of well-marked trails crisscrosses the mountain, leading through dense groves of oak, pine, and eucalyptus. The most popular route follows the coastal edge, offering dramatic views of the Cantabrian Sea, the rugged cliffs, and the distant French Basque coast. Along the way, you'll pass the remains of old fortifications and the Ulia lighthouse, a charming white tower perched on the cliffs. The summit provides a breathtaking panorama of the entire bay and the city below. Mount Ulia is a favorite among locals for jogging, dog walking, and weekend hikes, and it's a peaceful retreat from the urban bustle.
