La Concha Beach is the heart of San Sebastián's seaside charm, a sweeping crescent of golden sand that curves around the bay. Sheltered by the Urgull and Igueldo hills, its calm, gentle waters make it ideal for swimming and paddling. The beach is flanked by a elegant promenade lined with Belle Époque railings and streetlamps, offering stunning views of Santa Clara Island. Visitors can rent sunbeds and parasols, or simply spread a towel on the fine sand. The beach buzzes with locals and tourists alike, especially in summer, when the water is dotted with kayaks and paddleboards. At either end, you'll find changing facilities, showers, and a handful of chiringuitos (beach bars) serving refreshments. The iconic La Concha bay is also famous for its annual international fireworks competition, which lights up the sky in August.
