The Manol River is a modest watercourse that meanders through the flatlands of the Alt Empordà, passing near Figueres. Its banks are lined with poplars, reeds, and wildflowers, creating a green corridor that attracts birds and small wildlife. A network of dirt paths and trails follows the river, making it a favorite spot for joggers, dog walkers, and nature lovers. The river itself is often shallow and slow-moving, with clear water that reflects the sky. It's a peaceful escape from the city, offering a chance to see herons, kingfishers, and dragonflies. The best sections for walking are between Figueres and the village of Vilatenim.
